A counsel in the Personal Representation Department, Zoey Orol advises clients on estate planning and related tax matters, including, among other areas, charitable giving, trust and estate administration, foundation administration and governance, and achieving tax-efficient treatment for art collections. Zoey has been recognized by Chambers High Net Worth as an “Associate to Watch” in Private Wealth Law.

Zoey has published articles including the ACTEC Law Journal article “The Failures and the Future of Private Foundation Governance,” the New York State Bar Association Journal article “Modern Variations on an Ancient Theme: Fundamental Changes in Trust Law,” and the NYU Law Review article “Reading the Early American Legal Profession: A Study of the First American Law Review.” She has also lectured on various estate planning topics, including legislative updates in the federal and state estate tax, gift tax, and income tax areas, estate planning involving art, legal issues in museum administration, and nonprofit governance.

Zoey is an active member of the Art Law Committee of the New York City Bar Association and of the Associate Board of the Classic Stage Company. At New York University School of Law, she served as an editor of the New York University Law Review, was elected to the Order of the Coif, and won the Marden Moot Court Competition. Zoey is a former Jeopardy! champion.
