Corporate Global Head Angelo Bonvino and partner Daniel Fuschillo were featured in a Q&A on Paul, Weiss’s private equity practice in the 2026 edition of “Practice Perspectives: Vault’s Guide to Legal Practice Areas.” In the Q&A, Angelo and Daniel discuss what drew them to private equity work and what sets Paul, Weiss’s practice apart, among other topics.
Both partners underscore the importance of the close relationships they have developed in their careers. “I represent private equity firms in all their transactions through every phase of their existence,” says Angelo. “These are deep, long-standing relationships.” Junior lawyers should aim to develop such relationships from the early stages of their practice. “To be an excellent private equity lawyer, it’s extremely important to understand a client’s goals and how they do things,” Daniel notes.
Angelo also emphasizes how Paul, Weiss’s recent growth has augmented the firm’s private equity capabilities. “With our recent expansion in London, we’ve been able to add many new private equity clients and cross sell our London clients to our New York partners and vice versa,” he says. “As a result, today we’re among the top handful of the most active firms globally advising on buyouts, according to deal league tables.”
Vault’s annual “Practice Perspectives” guide offers insights from lawyers at top-ranked law firms on practicing law in more than 20 different practice areas.
