Mergers & Acquisitions Global Co-head Jim Langston and corporate partner Chelsea Darnell were featured in a Q&A on Paul, Weiss’s M&A practice in the 2026 edition of “Practice Perspectives: Vault’s Guide to Legal Practice Areas.” In the Q&A, Jim and Chelsea discuss the Paul, Weiss M&A practice, what drew them to field and other topics.
Commenting on their work on the complex Keurig Dr Pepper acquisition of leading global coffee company JDE Peet’s, Jim notes that it “really showcased our strengths as a practice and a firm.” The partners also share insights into the associate experience at Paul, Weiss and the kinds of assignments junior lawyers might expect on M&A transactions. “For associates at any level, if an opportunity to do a stretch assignment presents itself and the associate wants to take it on, that’s something partners are always willing to accommodate,” says Chelsea.
Both Jim and Chelsea also emphasize the collegial nature of their practice. “We work really hard, but we also have a lot of fun,” says Jim. “At our firm and within our M&A group, we support and root for each other, and we enjoy being together.”
Vault’s annual “Practice Perspectives” guide offers insights from lawyers at top-ranked law firms on practicing law in more than 20 different practice areas.
