Sung Pak Discusses New Paths to Capital in Global Finance Interview

Corporate partner Sung Pak spoke with Global Finance about finding opportunities for capital even during tumultuous times. In “New Paths to Capital,” published on January 3, Sung notes that capital providers typically have flexible mandates and are excited about finding opportunities, such as direct lending, credit special situations or asset-based financing. Sung says that across the globe, the private capital market is filling gaps left by traditional lenders, with unique challenges specific to each jurisdiction.
“We do see a more developed market for deploying private capital in the US and, to a lesser extent, Europe, but private capital is more suited to providing capital solutions in challenging markets,” Sung says. “We’ll be seeing the growth of private capital in all geographies sooner rather than later.”
