An associate in the Antitrust Department, Merrick Pastore represents clients on antitrust matters, including merger clearance and commercial litigation experience. Merrick advises clients on a variety of antitrust matters, including litigation, mergers and acquisitions, and investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
Prior to joining Paul, Weiss, Merrick served as a staff attorney in the FTC’s Bureau of Competition, where he worked on investigations and litigations, including Microsoft/Activision Blizzard; Axon/VieVu, Nvidia/Arm and Wilhelmsen/Drew Marine.
During his time at the FTC, Merrick presented an economic expert in federal court, first chaired over a dozen depositions and investigational hearings, and drafted a number of motions and complaints in both administrative and federal forums. He has extensive experience working alongside leading economic experts and with a variety of international competition agencies.
In 2019, Merrick received the FTC’s Stephen Nye Award, which recognizes an attorney whose overall work performance far exceeds what is usually expected of a relatively new legal practitioner.
