Of counsel in the Corporate Department, Amran’s practice focuses on representing sponsors of private investment funds, including buyout, growth capital and credit funds. She has been recognized as a Law360 MVP in fund formation. She advises clients on the development, formation, marketing and operation of their funds, as well as on structuring economic and governance arrangements for fund managers. She also counsels sponsors on co-investments and a range of secondary transactions. Her representations have included multi-investor funds, fund-of-ones and separately managed accounts. Amran’s funds practice has also included private equity fund spin-outs, investment management M&A transactions and strategic joint venture arrangements.

Amran speaks and writes regularly on a variety of topics relating to private funds, including as a panelist for a number of programs hosted by the International Bar Association/American Bar Association and Practising Law Institute.
In 2023, Crain’s New York Business recognized Amran as an “Notable Black Leader,” a recognition awarded to accomplished professionals elevating the Black community in the New York City area. Amran was awarded the Africa House Hero Award by New York University Africa House for her advocacy work. She is also on the board of directors of The TEAK Fellowship, a non-profit dedicated to helping talented New York City students from low-income families gain admission to top high schools and colleges.
