Jarryd Anderson is Co-Chair of the firm’s Financial Services Group. His practice focuses on advising U.S. and non-U.S. banking organizations, non-bank financial institutions, asset managers, and financial technology companies on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and regulatory, supervisory, and enforcement matters.
Jarryd has substantial experience spanning government service at the Federal Reserve, senior in-house positions at two global systemically important banks, a leading banking trade association, and private practice. He provides sophisticated counsel to clients on their most critical transactions, business opportunities, and other complex issues arising under key banking laws, including the Dodd-Frank Act, the Bank Holding Company Act, the Change in Bank Control Act, the National Bank Act, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Act. His experience encompasses bank powers and activities; charters and applications; capital and liquidity requirements; Volcker Rule compliance; anti-money laundering; and other areas of bank regulation. Jarryd is well-known for thought leadership and advocacy efforts and has represented clients before the federal banking agencies and Congress.
Jarryd served as a regulatory policy advisor in the Supervision and Regulation Division of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, where he helped implement significant aspects of the Dodd-Frank Act and other high priorities for the agency, including the Federal Reserve’s post-crisis recovery and resolution planning framework, rulemakings, and interagency and cross-border policy development.

Jarryd has been involved in various matters with banks and other financial institutions, including, among others, Allied Irish Banks, Apollo Global Management, Automatic Data Processing, Capital One, Citigroup, the independent directors of First Republic Bank, Flagstar Financial, Goldman Sachs & Co., Google, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Morgan Stanley, Nasdaq, Oak Hill Advisors, PNC Bank, Shinhan Financial Group, TD Bank, UBS, Wells Fargo & Co. and Western Alliance Bank.
Jarryd has been recognized by a number of industry awards and publications. Chambers USA recognizes him as a top lawyer for financial services regulation, with clients noting that he has “terrific understanding of regulatory policy and great judgment.” Most recently, Bloomberg Law recognized Jarryd in its 2024 “They’ve Got Next: 40 Under 40.” He was also named on Savoy’s 2024 “Most Influential Lawyers” list and among Lawdragon’s “500 X – The Next Generation 2024.”
Jarryd speaks and writes frequently on financial services topics. He co-chairs the ABA Banking Law Committee’s Mergers, Acquisitions, and Strategic Initiatives subcommittee and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He teaches as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center. Jarryd has also guest lectured at Columbia Law School and is a Senior Advisor at the Richman Center for Business, Law, and Public Policy at Columbia University.
