Jeremy Benjamin Named “Pro Bono Attorney of the Year” by Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund

Pro bono attorney Jeremy Benjamin was recognized as “Pro Bono Attorney of the Year” by the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund (TLDEF) for his long-standing pro bono service and commitment to the movement for transgender rights by actively working to remove the many barriers facing transgender and non-binary people. That work includes playing a leading role in Holland v. Broome County, a lawsuit that Paul, Weiss, alongside TLDEF and the New York Civil Liberties Union, has been litigating on behalf of a transgender woman who experienced discrimination and abuse while incarcerated in Broome County Jail.

Honorees were announced on June 29 and will be celebrated at TLDEF’s Pro Bono Recognition Dinner in New York City on September 26.
