Dotun Obadina Joins Paul, Weiss

Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP announced that Dotun Obadina has joined the firm as counsel in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of the Corporate Department, resident in New York.

Dotun advises public and private companies on a wide variety of transactional and corporate law matters, including public company representations, domestic and cross-border M&A, joint ventures and other strategic transactions. He also counsels clients on general corporate governance matters.

Dotun represents companies in a broad range of industries. His recent representations include, among others, advising Evoqua Water Technologies Corp. in its sale to Xylem Inc.; Cleveland-Cliffs in its acquisition of AK Steel and its acquisition of ArcelorMittal USA; Cargill Incorporated in its acquisition of Owensboro Grain Company; Eastman Chemical Company in the sale of its adhesives resins business to Synthomer plc and in the sale of its tire resins business to One Rock Capital Partners; USG in its sale to Gebr. Knauf; General Mills in its acquisition of TNT Crust Intermediate Holdings from Peak Rock Capital; and NerdWallet in its acquisition of On the Barrelhead.

Dotun received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Marquette University Law School, where he served as articles editor for the Marquette Law Review. He earned his B.S., magna cum laude, from North Dakota State University. He previously served as a judicial intern to Judge Diane Sykes of the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Dotun is a two-time Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellow (2013 and 2020). He was included in The Deal's list of “Top Rising Stars” and named to Bloomberg Law’s “They've Got Next: The 40 Under 40” in 2021. In 2022, Dotun was named to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s “40 Under 40.” Dotun currently serves on the board of directors of Wilderness Inquiry, a nonprofit organization that aims to provide universal access to the outdoors.
