Paul, Weiss is advising Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets, on the financing aspects of its joint venture with CMA CGM Group, a global player in sea, land, air and logistics solutions, to launch UNITED PORTS LLC. The joint venture will acquire 10 of the major CMA CGM-operated port terminals worldwide. Stonepeak will invest $2.4 billion in the endeavor for a 25% stake.
As part of the transaction, Stonepeak will have the opportunity to contribute an additional $3.6 billion in funding for future joint terminal projects. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.
