Katherine Forrest and Harut Minasian to Discuss Effects of AI in Federal Court at NYCBA Event

Global Artificial Intelligence Group Co-Chair Katherine Forrest and litigation associate Harut Minasian will participate in the New York City Bar Association’s “Artificial Intelligence and Federal Courts: What Lawyers Need to Know” webinar, which will offer practical, forward-looking solutions for lawyers to navigate and effectively use AI in federal courts. Katherine will speak on the “Access to Justice” panel, exploring the impact of AI in federal and state courts on efficiency in the court process for high-volume dockets; access and assistance for underrepresented and unrepresented litigants; communication in the court system for and on behalf of clients; and structural and institutional biases within the court system. Harut will speak on the “Evidence” panel, exploring the federal rules governing the intersection of AI and evidence; the tension between AI-generated evidence and specific federal evidence rules; and practical tips, including technical methods, for lawyers and courts to address AI-generated evidence.

The webinar, which offers CLE credit, will take place on January 29. Katherine’s panel will take place at 1:00 p.m. ET, and Harut’s panel will take place at 11:55 a.m. ET.
