Paul, Weiss Named a Seven-Time Finalist in Global Competition Review’s 2023 Awards

Paul, Weiss was named a finalist seven times across various categories in the Global Competition Review 2023 awards program.

In the Americas region, the firm is shortlisted for “Regional Firm of the Year,” and is twice shortlisted for “Merger Control Matter of the Year” for its role advising MGM in its sale to Amazon and for its role advising Continental Grain, alongside Cargill, in their buyout of Sanderson Farms Inc. The firm is also a finalist for worldwide “Matter of the Year” for its role in the MGM/Amazon deal.

On the litigation side, Paul, Weiss is a finalist for “Litigation of the Year” in the non-cartel defense category for helping win a complete defense verdict for Bard Inc. in a lawsuit brought by AngioDynamics. We are also shortlisted for “Behavioral Matter of the Year” in the Americas region for securing the dismissal of a lawsuit filed by the D.C. Attorney General that challenged Amazon’s “fair pricing” policy nationwide. Finally, litigation partner Bill Michael is a finalist in the “Litigator of the Year” category.

The GCR Awards recognize the cases, law firms, lawyers and enforcers who excelled in the competition and antitrust space over the past year. Winners will be chosen by popular vote and announced at an awards ceremony on March 28 in Washington, D.C.
