Paul, Weiss client KPS Capital won an award for “Turnaround Deal of the Year” from Buyouts magazine for its successful rebuilding of a former portfolio company, Chassis Brakes International Group. The story noted that KPS’s investment in CBI preserved more than 6,000 jobs globally in 2012 and added to employment levels in subsequent years, helping to reverse private equity’s image as a destroyer of businesses and jobs. Our firm was counsel to KPS on its acquisition and ultimate sale in 2019 of Chassis Brakes to Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd.
