A counsel in the Litigation Department and a member of the Antitrust group, Alex is a highly regarded antitrust counselor with extensive experience in European and UK regulatory matters. Her practice spans all aspects of antitrust enforcement, including abuse of dominance, anticompetitive agreements, multijurisdictional merger control, regulation (particularly in digital markets around the world) and antitrust litigation. She has represented clients before the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority and the European Commission and in litigation before the English High Court, the Competition Appeal Tribunal, and the European courts. Alex has experience acting for companies in many industry sectors including technology, private equity, healthcare and financial services.
Alex’s indicative recent experience includes advising:
- Qualcomm in its $2.4 billion n acquisition of UK-listed Alphawave Semi, a UK-based high-speed wired connectivity and compute technologies company.
- Evri, a UK-based parcel delivery company and a portfolio company of funds managed by Apollo affiliates, in its merger with DHL eCommerce UK, a UK-based parcel delivery company.
- IBM in:
- its $6.4 billion acquisition of HashiCorp, a California-based provider of Infrastructure Lifecycle Management and Security Lifecycle Management for cloud environments; and
- its acquisition of DataStax, a California-based AI and data solution provider.
- Google in relation to compliance with emerging digital regulation regimes in the APAC region, and related Digital Markets Act interplay.
- Confidential clients on multiple (separate) abuse of dominance complaints before the European Commission.
Alex was recently recognized by Legal 500 UK in the EU and Competition Category. She regularly contributes to legal publications and has been invited to speak at several industry events.
