A partner in the Project Finance & Development Group, Jia Ying represents sponsors, investment banks, commercial banks, investment funds and developers in a variety of energy and infrastructure financing transactions involving a range of assets, including power, oil and gas, renewable energy, liquefied natural gas, digital infrastructure and other infrastructure projects. Jia leverages a strong understanding of client needs to advise borrowers and lenders on commercial bank financings, private placements and term loan B transactions, and to guide sponsors and other stakeholders through the structuring, acquisition, development and financing of energy infrastructure transactions.
Jia’s representative matters include*:
- Blackstone Energy Partners and its portfolio company Lancium in a construction loan and letter of credit facility to finance its Abilene project
- Blackstone Capital Partners VII and Blackstone Energy Partners II, and their portfolio company Kindle Energy, in the Term Loan B acquisition financing of Potomac Energy Center. The facilities support Kindle’s Potomac Energy Center, a 774 MW natural gas–fired power plant in Loudoun County, Virginia
- Morgan Stanley Infrastructure II, Inc., as sponsor, on the refinancing of an 805 MW combined cycle gas generating facility located in Sayreville, New Jersey
- GenOn in connection with the financing of a number of its power projects in the Term Loan A and Term Loan B markets, including the Bowline, Ormond Beach and Ellwood, and Lanyard financings
- Korean sponsors in the $738 million financing (including construction, term loan, mezzanine, and equity components) of the 950 MW Trumbull CCGT project in Ohio
- Blackstone Energy Partners and its portfolio company Aypa Power I LLC in construction to term loan financing and tax equity financings for the Bypass (Texas) battery storage project
- Calpine Corporation in a syndicated project financing transaction totaling more than $1 billion to finance the development and construction of a 680 MW battery energy storage system complex in Menifee, Riverside County, California
- Calpine Corporation in connection with the development and $1.75 billion green financing of its 725 MW Geysers geothermal power complex in California
- A consortium of Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP) and EQT in its $33.4 billion acquisition of AES, the largest supplier of clean energy to corporations globally, and GIP in its consortium arrangement to acquire AES
- Basalt Infrastructure Partners in connection with its acquisition and financing of AEP OnSite Partners, which owns the distributed resources business of American Electric Power
- Generate Ubiquity Holdings on a $275 million construction credit facility for the deployment of last mile, open access fiber networks across its core markets in Texas, California, Arizona, and Nebraska
- TC Energy in a $2.3 billion senior unsecured revolving credit facility for its wholly owned subsidiary TC Energía Mexicana to refinance the TGNH Southeast Gateway Pipeline in Mexico
