Asian Legal Business shortlisted Paul, Weiss in six categories in its 2026 Japan Law Awards, which recognize the leading legal practitioners and firms in Japan. The firm is a finalist for “International Deal Firm of the Year,” two “Debt Market Deal of the Year” awards for advising on two senior note offerings by Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and “M&A Deal of the Year (Midsize)” for advising Apollo on its sale of MAFTEC Group to Advantage Partners, led by corporate partner Tong Yu and counsel Chikara Momota. Tong is also a finalist for “Managing Partner of the Year,” “Foreign Lawyer of the Year” and “Dealmaker of the Year.”
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Tokyo on June 12.
