EQT’s SatPort Forms Strategic Partnership With Telesat for Ground Network Expansion

Paul, Weiss is advising SatPort (an EQT portfolio company) on its global framework agreement with Telesat LEO (part of Telesat, the Canadian global satellite operator), to build and operate landing stations as gateways to Telesat’s ‘Lightspeed’ Low Earth Orbit satellite constellation. 

Under the terms of the deal, SatPort will develop, build and host landing stations that connect the Telesat Lightspeed constellation to the world’s terrestrial networks. The agreement will deliver an essential part of one of the most advanced enterprise- and defense-grade low Earth orbit satellite networks, delivering secure, high-capacity, fiber-like broadband connectivity worldwide.

The Paul, Weiss team is led by corporate partner Tom Levine and includes partners Kelann Stirling and Jia Ying.
