Global Competition Review shortlisted Paul, Weiss in several categories in its annual GCR Awards, which recognize the cases, law firms, lawyers and enforcers who excelled in the competition and antitrust space over the past year. The firm is shortlisted for “Matter of the Year” and “Behavioral Matter of the Year (Americas)” for its representation of Google in the government’s landmark civil antitrust case over the company’s alleged monopolization of advertising technology, led by litigation partners Karen Dunn and Jeannie Rhee; “Litigation of the Year: Cartel Defense” for its representation of Deutsche Bank in the Ninth Circuit’s affirmance of the dismissal of a lawsuit alleging that several major banks conspired to fix the London Interbank Interest Rate (LIBOR), led by litigation partners Jessica Carey and Meredith Dearborn; and “Merger Control Matter of the Year (Americas)” for its representation of WestRock in gaining FTC clearance for its $20 billion combination with Smurfit Kappa, led by antitrust partners Scott Sher and Josh Soven. Additionally, the representation of Regeneron in Novartis Pharma et al v. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, led by litigation partners Liz Weiswasser, Anish Desai, Chris Pepe and Priya Patel, was shortlisted for “Litigation of the Year: Non-Cartel Prosecution.”
Voting for all categories is open until February 10. Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in Washington on April 1.
