Katherine Forrest Discusses Government Usage of Artificial Intelligence at PLI Event

On January 24, litigation partner Katherine Forrest participated in a Practising Law Institute (PLI) panel, “Government Usage of AI,” as part of PLI’s Artificial Intelligence Law 2023 program. The discussion focused on the risks and opportunities of facial recognition and voice patterning technologies used by governments, the effects of AI in protecting communities or perpetuating structural inequalities, administrative law issues from the use of AI, and other issues surrounding the use of AI by governments and supporting private sector actors.

PLI’s Artificial Intelligence Law 2023 program explored the technology and legal issues of AI, with topics including the basics of AI, legislation and public policy challenges, and use of AI by governments, among other topics.
