Rush Atkinson Discusses New DOJ Whistleblower Pilot Program With Wall Street Journal

Litigation partner Rush Atkinson spoke with The Wall Street Journal about the U.S. Department of Justice Criminal Division’s whistleblower pilot program, which will give some executives involved in wrongdoing immunity if they provide information about the corporate misconduct. In “Justice Department to Offer Some Execs Immunity Under Whistleblower Pilot Program,” published on April 16, Rush, cited as a recent high-level DOJ official, notes that time will tell if the new immunity policy, effective as of April 15, is successful at getting executives who are involved in corporate misconduct to report to the Justice Department.

“This is the biggest carrot the Justice Department can offer: a commitment to forego prosecution if you come in and cooperate against an employer or others,” Rush says.
