Paul, Weiss Recognized by The American Lawyer for North Carolina Voter ID Win

Litigation partners Andrew Ehrlich and Jane O’Brien and partner-elect Paul Brachman were recognized by The American Lawyer’s “Litigation Daily” column on December 23 for successfully defending their landmark voter ID victory on appeal.
Andrew, Jane and Paul, alongside co-counsel at Southern Coalition for Social Justice, secured an affirmance in North Carolina Supreme Court of their win striking down North Carolina’s 2018 voter ID law, S.B. 824. The state supreme court’s majority held the law was “enacted with the discriminatory intent to target African-American voters who were unlikely to vote for Republican candidates.”
