Jarryd Anderson to Discuss Lessons of 2023 Bank Failures at Columbia Law School Banking Conference

Financial Services Group Co-Chair Jarryd Anderson will participate in a panel, “Lessons from SVB, Signature and First Republic,” as part of the inaugural Columbia Law School Banking Conference, held in in conjunction with the Directorate-General of the European Commission. The panel will cover topics including possible deficiencies in resolution and deposit insurance frameworks; dealing with liquidity mismatches; mechanisms for executive accountability in failed institutions; and implications for the structure and profitability of the U.S. banking system, among others.
The invitation-only conference will bring together leading academic and regulatory leaders to discuss the state of money and banking today, and the challenges posed by a fast changing economic and financial market landscape. Keynote speakers include Michael Barr, vice chair for supervision at the Federal Reserve Board, and Dominique Laboureix, chair of the Single Resolution Board of the European Union. Their speeches will be recorded and made available to the public.
The event will take place in New York City on February 16.
