Creative Dealmaking Is Key in Uncertain Environment, Laura Turano Tells Mergermarket

Corporate partner Laura Turano spoke with Mergermarket in an article about the prospects in the M&A market following dampened deal activity in 2023. In “North American Consumer Trendspotter: Creative deals get done amid 10-year low activity,” Laura discussed how creativity in dealmaking is important in the face of transactional headwinds. As the article notes, even as higher interest rates limited financial sponsor deals in 2023, corporate buyers led a rebound during the second half of the year. “An uncertain environment means you need to be more thoughtful and creative about how you approach deals,” Laura observes. “Overall with M&A, sellers have different motivations for exit times, so that’s where creative dealmaking comes in.”
