The article discusses the sharp decline in M&A activity globally after the pandemic’s outbreak, followed by a swift and strong recovery in the second half of 2020. Scott attributes the recent stabilization of the market to companies taking stock of their vulnerabilities, shifting gears and learning to operate in the new environment. “All of a sudden, you could see a real shift in thinking to what will the world look like post-pandemic, and how do we put ourselves in the best position to succeed post-pandemic?” Barshay says.
