Global Co-Chair of the M&A practice and Co-Head of the London office, Roger Johnson represents private equity firms and financial sponsors in all forms of cross-border leveraged M&A and portfolio transactions, including restructuring advice.

EXPERIENCE

Roger has advised some of the industry’s leading alternative asset managers, private equity firms and pension plans, including EQT, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, Summit Partners, Triton Partners and Vitruvian Partners, among others, across many industries. He is recognized as a “Leading Individual” by The Legal 500 UK in Private Equity: Transactions – High-Value Deals (£250m+) and as a “Highly Regarded” lawyer by IFRL1000 for both Private Equity and M&A. Roger was shortlisted as “Dealmaker of the Year” by The Deal for its Cross-Border Europe for Private Equity Awards in 2019.

    • EQT’s €6.8 billion acquisition of Baring Private Equity Asia, a leading private markets investment firm
    • an EQT-led consortium in its CHF 10.2 billion acquisition of leading global skincare company Nestlé Skin Health (n/k/a Galkerma Holdings SA)
    • an EQT-led consortium in its £4.5 billion acquisition of Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC
    • EQT Infrastructure in its $5.3 billion acquisition of Covanta Holding Corporation, its acquisition of Green Investment Group’s stake in Covanta, and in the carve-out of Covanta’s European operations to create a standalone Waste-to-Energy platform
    • EQT’s C$1.8 billion combination with Exeter Property Group, a leading global real estate investment manager, creating EQT Exeter; and EQT Exeter in its acquisition of Bear Logi, a logistics real estate asset management firm
    • EQT in the combination of IVC and Evidensia to create leading European veterarinary care provider IVC Evidensia; EQT’s additional substantial investment and renewed long-term commitment in the company; EQT’s sale of a minority interest in IVC Evidensia to an investor group, valuing IVC at €3 billion; and IVC Evidensia’s acquisition of VetStrategy, a leading Canadian veterinary care provider
