Litigation partner Liza Velazquez was quoted in an article, “Major Companies, Legal Chiefs Step Up to Support Equal Rights Amendment,” published in ALM Corporate Counsel. The article discusses the recent amicus brief filed by Paul, Weiss on behalf of 86 corporations in support of a D.C. Circuit Court appeal, Virginia v. Ferriero, seeking formal certification of the Equal Rights Amendment.
“The response from the business community was extremely positive,” Liza said. “We dealt directly with individuals at the highest levels within the amici’s respective legal structures. The GCs of the major companies that signed on to the brief were intimately involved. They read the brief. They gave comments. They were very, very engaged.”
