Paul, Weiss secured summary judgment in federal district court in Connecticut on behalf of two pro bono clients on their claim that the Bureau of Prisons violated their constitutional right to practice their religious beliefs while incarcerated. The court ruled in our clients’ favor, finding that no genuine dispute of material fact existed as to liability, and set a trial for the sole purpose of determining damages.
The Second Circuit Court of Appeals previously appointed Paul, Weiss to represent our clients on appeal. Following a partial reversal from the Second Circuit late last year, the case was remanded to the District of Connecticut, where the team pursued and won the favorable summary judgment ruling.
The Paul, Weiss team includes litigation partner Bill Michael, and associates Jamie Durling, Parker Murray, Andrew Fishman, Charlotte Cooper and Jacob Schulz.
