Universal Music Group Board Declines Unsolicited Pershing Square Proposal

Paul, Weiss advised the Universal Music Group N.V. board of directors as the board assessed, and ultimately declined, an unsolicited and non-binding proposal from Pershing Square Capital Management, L.P. The board’s unanimous decision said the offer was not in the best interests of UMG, its shareholders, artists, songwriters, employees and other stakeholders.
