Litigation partner Kenneth Gallo was named "Litigator of the Week" by The Am Law Litigation Daily for representation of Sharp Corporation and Sharp Electronics Corporation in an enormous victory when Judge Gottschall of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois dismissed antitrust claims by Motorola Mobility Inc. seeking over $3 billion in damages, effectively ending litigation in trial court. Motorola is seeking permission to take an immediate appeal from the dismissal order.
The article reports that Paul, Weiss worked with the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry and a dozen law professors, including Of Counsel Daniel Crane, to file an amicus brief. The article quotes Kenneth as saying, "By having some prominent law professors and a Japanese government agency submit amicus briefs, we could show that this was a truly significant issue that was worthy of reconsideration."
