Brad Karp and Susanna Buergel Discuss the Latest in Litigation at SIFMA Seminar

Firm Chairman Brad Karp and litigation partner Susanna Buergel discussed the latest in securities litigation, antitrust and other civil litigation issues as part of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association’s (SIFMA) C&L Annual Seminar. On March 13, Brad participated in the panel “Litigation Update I: Civil Litigation - Securities Class Actions and Other Major Civil Cases,” which covered updates on ESG securities claims and crypto securities claims, scheme liability in the wake of Lorenzo, and the application of the Supreme Court’s decision in Goldman by lower courts, among other topics.

On March 14, Susanna spoke on the panel “Litigation Update II: Collusion, Manipulation and False Claims Act Developments,” which covered antitrust developments, the evolution of boycott and manipulation theories, trial presentation and strategies, and more.

SIFMA’s C&L Annual Seminar is the preeminent meeting place for compliance and legal professionals in financial services to gain an understanding of what's next for markets and clients. The seminar was held from March 12-15.
