Loretta Lynch and Harris Fischman Featured in Vault Q&A on Paul, Weiss’s White Collar & Regulatory Defense Practice

July 5, 2023

Litigation partners Loretta Lynch and Harris Fischman were featured in a Q&A on Paul, Weiss’s White Collar & Regulatory Defense Practice in the 2023 edition of “Practice Perspectives: Vault’s Guide to Legal Practice Areas.” In the Q&A, Loretta and Harris discuss their experience working in the white collar and regulatory defense space and offer tips for paving a successful career in this area.

“The key to being a good white collar lawyer is to flip the perspective and think how the other side is thinking; that’s what you do as a prosecutor,” Loretta says. “As long as you’re able to get to the heart of the issues, connect with your clients and put yourself in the government’s shoes in terms of how they would view certain behavior, then you’re on the right track.”

Loretta and Harris also describe some challenging aspects of practicing white collar defense, what they like best about the practice and some of their day-to-day responsibilities, among other topics.

“One of my favorite things about my job is that every day is different,” Harris says. “There are constantly new problems, industries, and jurisdictions that I’m dealing with and learning about, and that keeps it exciting.”

Vault’s “Practice Perspectives,” which was released this month, offers insights from lawyers at top-ranked law firms on practicing law in more than 20 different practice areas.
