Chess.com Receives Investment From CVC

Paul, Weiss is advising General Atlantic and its portfolio company Chess.com, the world’s largest online chess platform, on the M&A aspects of CVC Capital Partners IX’s investment in Chess.com. GA will remain a shareholder. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Paul, Weiss team is led by corporate partners Austin Pollet and Matthew Abbott, and includes partner Suhan Shim and counsel Matthew Burton; tax partner Lindsay Parks; intellectual property partner Jonathan Ashtor; litigation partners John Carlin, Nicole Succar and Daniel Gerkin and counsel Audrey Paquet; antitrust partners Annie Herdman and Chad de Souza; and real estate partner Peter Fisch; executive compensation counsel Bruce Goldberger.
