Paul, Weiss Joins La Raza Centro Legal to Assist Immigrant Families

Paul, Weiss partnered with La Raza Centro Legal to assist immigrants in the San Francisco Bay Area apply for lawful permanent residency (LPR) status in the United States during an adjustment of status clinic. La Raza Centro Legal is a nonprofit providing high-quality, free legal representation to the Latine community and low-income immigrant families in the Bay Area since its founding in 1973.

In preparation for the clinic, on June 8, La Raza Centro Legal attorneys and staff provided a training to Paul, Weiss volunteers at the firm’s San Francisco office. The training included information about asylee adjustment of status requirements, U-Visa adjustment of status requirements, and general tips for working with clients. At the clinic, Paul, Weiss volunteers held one-on-one consultations with clients to assist with preparing their adjustment of status applications.

The Paul, Weiss team was supervised by litigation partner Melinda Haag and included corporate associates Elaine Sun, Jeremy Pushkin and Joaquin Aguinaco; and litigation associate Erika Hoglund. The clinic was coordinated by pro bono attorney Tanaz Moghadam.
