Litigation partners Andrew Gordon, Geoff Chepiga and Tiana Voegelin were recognized in The American Lawyer’s “Litigation Daily” column for their trial win on behalf of The Carlyle Group in an earnout dispute in the Delaware Court of Chancery. The team helped Carlyle defeat nine-digit fiduciary duty and earnout claims brought by Suresh Katta, founder of Carlyle portfolio company Saama Technologies. Carlyle also won $7.3 million in damages from Katta for his misconduct in what is likely the first time a buyer defendant has both defeated earnout claims and won damages on a counterclaim in the Court of Chancery.
The Paul, Weiss team also included litigation partner Dan Mason, counsel Sabrina Hendershot and associates Emily Cox, Michael Slobom, Gretchen Edelman, Matthew Clarida, Angela Seeger, Linda Wen, Matthew Tracy, Charles Bachmann, Noah Keith, Alex Lee and Hana Nasser.
