Paul, Weiss is committed to providing impactful pro bono legal assistance to individuals and organizations in need. Our program is all-encompassing, spanning the core issues facing our society.
Paul, Weiss was awarded Make the Road New York’s “With the Community” award at its annual Dignity, Community, and Power Awards. The firm was recognized for its involvement in a number of engagements, including our work on Make the Road’s “ICE Out” campaign, which aims to inform landlords and commercial licensees of their rights with respect to warrantless searches by Immigration and Customs Enforcement; the firm’s successful appeal of a denial of guardianship based on the parent’s immigration status; Paul, Weiss’s defense of Make the Road in a suit brought by a landlord attempting to quash tenant organizing efforts at a Section 8 housing complex in Staten Island; and our contribution to a citywide initiative to expand voting rights. The event took place on November 14 in New York City.
The Paul, Weiss teams involved with these matters included litigation partners Gregory Laufer and Jacqueline Rubin, of counsel Daniel Beller, associates Jeremy Benjamin, Anika Rappleye, Benjamin Bergmann, Victor Pinedo, Alexander Deutsch, Ross Wilson, Mary Spooner and Stephen Popernik and pro bono associate BJ Jensen.
