KPS Capital to Sell American & Efird to Platinum Equity Capital

Paul, Weiss is representing North Carolina-based thread maker American & Efird (A&E), a portfolio company of KPS Capital Partners, in its sale to Platinum Equity Capital Partners. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. A&E is the world's second-largest manufacturer and distributor of premium quality industrial and consumer sewing thread, embroidery thread and technical textiles. The transaction was expected to close in the second quarter of 2018, pending regulatory approvals.
