Pro Bono Clients Granted Asylum

Paul, Weiss successfully obtained asylum for two clients, an 18-year-old girl and her infant son, who were forced to flee El Salvador following years of sexual abuse and violent threats from gang members. Earlier this year, the team had successfully represented the clients in Family Court in Brooklyn in connection with their guardianship applications and Motions for Special Findings.  

The Paul, Weiss team included associates Raj Borsellino, Kate Gadsden, Iris Pan and Alex Luxenburg. Litigation partner Liza Velazquez supervised the matter, and BJ Jensen and Chelsea Sahai in the pro bono department provided ongoing support.
