Ericsson to Acquire Microsoft's Mediaroom Business

Paul, Weiss client Ericsson announced an agreement with Microsoft Corporation to buy Microsoft's IPTV business, Mediaroom. This acquisition, which is expected to close during the second half of 2013, will make Ericsson the leading provider of IPTV and multi-screen solutions to IPTV operators, with a market share of over 25 percent. Completion of the transaction is subject to antitrust approvals and other conditions.
