The Global Restructuring Review named Paul, Weiss a finalist in four categories in its 2025 GRR awards. The firm was named a finalist for “Chapter 11 Firm of the Year,” recognizing our representation of Diamond Sports Group in its successful chapter 11 process, 23andMe in its court-approved $305 million bankruptcy sale, Mitel in its successful chapter 11 process and Rite Aid in its chapter 11 bankruptcy. The firm was also named a finalist for the “Pioneering Spirit Award” for representing 23andMe in the first case in which state genetic and data privacy laws were applied to the sale of a genetic testing company in a bankruptcy process—a matter led by partners Christopher Hopkins, Jeffrey Recher, William Clareman, Paul Basta and Jeffrey Marell. The firm was named a finalist in the “Impactful Judgement of the Year” category for its Fifth Circuit win on behalf of a group of Serta Simmons lenders excluded from a 2020 debt restructuring deal, led by, among others, litigation partners Lewis Clayton and William Marks, and restructuring partners Brian Hermann and Ken Ziman. Finally, restructuring partner Chris Hopkins was named a “Future Leader” finalist.
The annual awards honor the most impressive restructuring practices and individuals of the past year. Winners will be recognized at a ceremony in London on November 20.
