EU’s New Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive Sets Up Impending Legal Clash, David Lakhdhir and Annise Maguire Write in Westlaw Today

April 5, 2024

Corporate partner David Lakhdhir and Sustainability & ESG counsel Annise Maguire discuss the European Union's recently approved Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) in “EU due diligence directive: An impending legal culture clash,” an article published on April 5 in Westlaw Today. The directive, the authors note, will obligate large companies to comply with broad new environmental and human rights requirements. “The potential impact of the CSDDD cannot be overstated,” they write. “The EU's recent action is only the beginning of a fundamental legal culture clash.”
