INEOS Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe to Acquire Significant Stake in Manchester United

Paul, Weiss is advising Trawlers Limited in an agreement with Manchester United plc under which Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of INEOS, will acquire 25% of Manchester United’s Class B shares from the Glazer family and initiate a tender offer to acquire up to 25% of the publicly listed Class A shares in Manchester United plc. Sir Jim has also agreed to provide an additional $300 million to the Club, intended to enable future investment into Old Trafford. INEOS has also accepted a request to be assigned responsibility for the management of the Club's football operations.
