General Atlantic Acquires 20 Percent of Russian Antivirus Software Maker
As reported yesterday, Paul, Weiss client General Atlantic acquired 20 percent of Russian antivirus software maker Kaspersky Lab. The Moscow-based company, which is valued at about one billion dollars by the private equity investment, aims to expand by acquiring smaller Internet security companies.
The Paul, Weiss team advising General Atlantic included corporate partner Matthew W. Abbott; intellectual property partner Charles H. Googe Jr.; and tax partner Richard J. Bronstein.
