New Dawn Transaction Finalist for IFLR "Project Finance Deal of the Year"

The International Financial Law Review has nominated the ground-breaking New Dawn satellite project financing as a finalist for the 2009 "Project Finance Deal of the Year."
Paul, Weiss represented New Dawn Satellite Company Ltd., a joint venture controlled by Paul, Weiss client Intelsat, the world's leading provider of fixed satellite services, in the transaction with Convergence Partners, a South African investment company focused on the telecommunications, media and technology sector in Africa and the Middle East.
The lender syndicate was led by Nedbank Capital, one of South Africa's largest bank groups, and includes the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa and the African Development Bank.
The awards ceremony will take place on March 18 in London.
