Ply Gem Acquires Mitten in First Transaction Since IPO

Paul, Weiss client Ply Gem Industries Inc., a leading manufacturer of exterior building products in North America and a former portfolio company of Paul, Weiss client CI Capital Partners, acquired Ontario-based Mitten, Inc., a vinyl siding and accessories producer. Ply Gem made the deal with Mitten's former owner, private equity firm Graham Partners of Newtown Square, PA, for undisclosed terms. Graham announced the deal June 4.

The transactions follow Paul, Weiss's involvement in Ply Gem's recent IPO and its acquisition of Gienow Window & Doors in April. Gienow, which owns a plant in Calgary and sales offices throughout Western Canada, produces vinyl, clad-wood, and metal-clad vinyl windows and doors.

The Paul, Weiss team advising on the most recent transaction included corporate partners Eric Goodison, John Kennedy and Carl Reisner, counsel Richard Elliott; and tax partner Richard Bronstein.
