Paul, Weiss Named "International Private Equity Team of the Year"
Paul, Weiss was named "International Private Equity Team of the Year" at the China Law and Practice Awards 2011 in Beijing on September 22. The ceremony also recognized two "deal of the year" transactions in which the firm played a major role.
- "Private Equity Deal of the Year" -- General Atlantic /Soufun Holdings Investment: Paul, Weiss represented General Atlantic Mauritius Limited in its purchase of class A ordinary shares of SouFun Holdings Limited (SouFun) from Telstra International Holdings Limited (the Seller), for an aggregate purchase price of $163 million in a private placement closing simultaneously with SouFun's initial public offering of its class A ordinary shares; and
- "Real Estate and Construction Deal of the Year" -- Shanghai Disneyland: Paul, Weiss represented the state-owned enterprise Shanghai Shendi Group Co. in various joint venture contracts with Disney to build the first mainland China theme park.
