From March 1, 2010, foreign-invested partnerships may be established under Chinese law. This type of entity is created by the Administrative Measures on Establishment of Partnership Enterprises by Foreign Enterprises or Individuals (the "Measures"), which were promulgated by the State Council on November 25, 2009. The Measures were eagerly awaited by foreign private equity funds as a potential basis for establishing Renminbi funds under a more flexible legal framework than before.
