Description of Program and Relief

Capital Area Food Bank

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Capital Area Food Bank is distributing food at multiple pop-up pantry locations. It is also continuing to run its afterschool meals program, which has been replaced with to-go meals that children can pick up and eat at home. It is also continuing to participate in the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, providing healthy groceries to low-income seniors.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

Pop-up food pantries are available to everyone.

Afterschool meals are available to children (ages 18 and under).

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program is available to seniors (ages 60 and up) who reside in Washington, D.C. and Montgomery County and a have household income of no greater than 130% of the Poverty Line. Individuals must complete an application and provide proof of age, identity, and income.
