Financial Planning Association Pro Bono Financial Planning

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Financial Planning Association is providing a list of certified financial planners who are providing free financial guidance to underserved individuals.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

While the list of participating certified financial planners is publically available, free financial guidance is intended for underserved Americans, defined as:

  • Low-income individuals and families;

  • Military personnel/veterans;

  • Domestic violence survivors; or

  • People affected by natural disasters, serious medical crises, or bankruptcy.

  • If an individual engages a pro bono financial planner, the financial planner will ask that person to complete a letter of engagement before any services are provided. That letter will outline what the pro bono relationship entails and the expectations of all parties.
