Description of Program and Relief

Giving Kitchen

During the COVID-19 outbreak, Giving Kitchen is providing financial assistance, including rent/mortgage and utility payments, to food service workers who have experienced an unexpected illness (including COVID-19), injury, death of an immediate family member, or a disaster like a flood or house fire. Individuals may receive financial assistance for up to six months after the crisis.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

To qualify for assistance from Giving Kitchen, individuals must:

  • Reside in Georgia;

  • Work in the food service industry; and

  • Experience an unexpected illness (including COVID-19), injury, death of an immediate family member, or disaster (like a house flood or fire).

  • To receive assistance, eligible individuals must provide:

  • A statement explaining why you need assistance;

  • A paycheck stub;

  • Crisis documentation (doctor’s note, fire report, death certificate, etc.);

  • A lease or mortgage; and

  • Utility bills.
