Description of Program and Relief

Houston Arts Alliance Artist and Arts Worker Relief Fund

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Houston Arts Alliance (HAA) is offering grants of up to $1,000to to artists and art workers (such as arts nonprofit employees and gallerists) in the Houston area who have lost income and/or benefits as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak and are in need of financial assistance for expenses related to basic needs (such as food, housing, and health) while they seek new sources of income.

Eligibility Requirements/Restrictions

To qualify for a grant, individuals must:

  • Be artists or art workers;

  • Be at least 18 years old;

  • Reside within the following 8 counties: Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery or Waller; and

  • Have previously applied for public assistance (such as unemployment and the Paycheck Protection Program) before submitting an application.

Application Deadlines (If Applicable)

Applications will be accepted through May 31, 2020, and will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.
